Same as the classic limoncello the basics for yuzucello is a macerate of lemon zest as well. Here any further comparison stops however, since this spirit is enhanced using distilled spices.
The complex southern citrus flavour is the result of distilling yuzu, enhanced with kaffir, lemon grass and citrus. Ginger releases a pungent body into the spirit.
The addition of a hint of orange adds a sweet touch to the yuzucello without added extra sugars. Any lemon-based liquor is sweetened with a minimum of 10% and a maximum of 30% sugar. Yuzucello with its 15% scores low in this segment, something which one tastes. A fresh aperitive, a warming digestive.
